First PRIDE lunch winners of the year! Students whose names were drawn from all those earning PRIDE passes this week were treated to pizza from Greek Tony's! A huge shoutout to Greek Tony's and our student winners for supporting positive behavior at MSMS!

MSMS Families -- Ride With Pride information was given to students at Ports of Call and also during our grade level assemblies this week. If your student has not yet signed the Ride With Pride pledge and wants to be included in the awesome opportunities to win some prizes just by consistently doing the right thing, please have them stop by the front office to sign their pledge!

Mona Shores Families,
While we continue to long for the consistency of sunshine and warmer temperatures, April is leaving and May is coming. Traditionally, this month challenges our students to remain focused, to continue making positive choices, and to finish the year off strong...academically, behaviorally, and socially! It is a time when the weather really improves, students are outside more, and the days get longer. I am confident, with encouragement, support, and structure, that our students will continue to be successful and have a phenomenal end to the school year!
Throughout the month of May, we will focus on the character trait of INTEGRITY! Integrity can be defined as “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.” We will be focused on challenging our students to make the right choices and to do what’s right all through the month. Our goal is that our students will hold themselves to high moral and ethical standards, even when it is hard to do so, and take ownership when they don’t quite meet those standards. C.S. Lewis says, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” I believe this is a challenge for all of us, not just our students. As we head through May, please take the time to have intentional conversations with your students regarding integrity, recognize them when they make the right choices, and encourage them to demonstrate integrity, even when it is tough to do so.
**PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES || Moving into our final 7 weeks of school, we want to offer another opportunity for Parent Teacher Conferences. This experience will be the same as the other two throughout the school year. Below are a few additional details outlining this experience.
PTC window will be from May 8 through May 26.
These will be scheduled and orchestrated through your student’s CREW leader.
CREW leaders will be communicating a sign up for their CREW to connect with parents in person, via phone, or virtually.
These sign ups will be communicated and scheduled no later than Friday, May 5 and take place during the previously mentioned window. If you have not heard from your CREW leader by then, please feel free to reach out.
These connects / conferences provide flexibility for all of our families to choose their mode and the best time to connect with CREW leaders.
NOTE: You are always welcome, at any time and in any mode, to connect with any of your child’s teachers to check on academic progress, behavior, socialness, or just general observations. Please feel free to reachout at any point to your child’s teachers to check in, ask questions, or discuss any concerns.
QUICK REMINDERS
**STUDENTS WALKING TO/FROM SCHOOL -- If your student is walking down Woodside or Reneer, either coming to or leaving school, please remind them to respect our neighbors, their yards, and their property. We have had a few complaints of students riding bikes in their yards, ringing doorbells, walking through flower beds, littering, and messing with mailboxes. We will do the same here, talking about respect and responsibility. We will also be communicating with Officer Payton, our SRO, so that she can monitor more as well.
**SOCIAL MEDIA REMINDER -- How is YOUR STUDENT using social media -- to build up or put down? How do WE, as adults, use social media - to build up or put down? How might WE ALL use social media in a positive way, promoting our children, our schools, our community, and all of the amazing things that we are grateful for? We MUST tell the story of all the great things that are happening in Mona Shores. Protect Young Eyes is a great resource for digital citizenship and for us as parents. This is a great time of year to review and discuss expectations around social media with your student.
I hope that you all will have a great week and are able to talk about integrity with your students! Continue to positively encourage your students, support them, and communicate with their teachers when you need help, clarification, or simply an update on their progress towards success.

Good Afternoon Sailor Families, Spring sports are close to kicking into gear and we wanted to get some important info out to parents of potential athletes. Practices and Tryouts will begin on Wednesday, March 22, Directly After School. In order to participate in any practice or tryout, a physical form signed and filled out by a doctor must be on file in the front office prior to the first practice or tryout. These can be picked up in the front office to be taken to your family doctor or an Urgent Care in town. Track || This is open to any 7th or 8th grade student. Tennis ll This is open to any 6th – 8th grade student. Practices will continue through the end of the week after school. Local Urgent Cares for physicals are listed below. You must bring a blank MHSAA physical form with you.
