Congratulations Sailors on all of your hard work to wrap up your course requirements and 2nd trimester exams. Please note during the grading window that there will likely be changes in grades. To ensure accuracy in reporting grades the portal is turned off and will resume on March 22nd at 3 pm.

Congratulations to Bella Vitale!
for placing first in the state with her team at the Michigan ProStart Competition!
Bella and her classmates from the Hospitality and Food Management class at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center competed by creating a nutritious meal that did not compromise flavor and visual appeal. The team had to create an entree, side item, and beverage that conformed to the National Restaurant Association's Kids' Live Well and USDA criteria menu for nutrition. It also had to pass a taste test from a panel of judges made up of children as well as industry professionals. The MSHS junior will share the $28,000 in scholarship money with her teammates from Oakridge, Ravenna, and Reeths-Puffer. The students provided recipes, pricing, and nutrition information for their dish: a brown rice dish with orange sauce and an assortment of fruits and vegetables. Bella is a junior at MSHS who plans to use the scholarship money to pursue a career in the food industry.

FAFSA is open. College-bound seniors should complete the 24-25 FAFSA to determine your eligibility for college grants, scholarships, and loans.

Happenings:
MiCareerQuest 2024: March 27, 2024 - Freshmen will attend this unique career exploration day that includes interactive experiences with local employers.
Senior Visit Day at MCC: May 6, 2024 - Save the date! Students will go through orientation, take placement tests, and meet with advisors to register for classes. Students must sign up to attend and have completed their application to Muskegon Community College to start Fall 2024. Watch for more information to come regarding the sign-up process.
General Updates and Reminders:
Extended Day Program: Monday - Thursday afterschool until 3:45 pm. Teachers and NHS tutors are available for support. Location is the HS Library Media Center. A great opportunity to work on collaborative projects, stay engaged in your learning and achieve your goals.

Class of 2024 Senior Celebration Information:
Registration for the Senior Celebration post graduation party is now available.
Beginning January 2, 2024 the price is $85 . Deadline to register is May 17, 2024. See registration form HERE for more details. Senior Celebration is a time-honored tradition where parents of the Senior Class put together a fun "all-night" experience for the graduating class. The event location is a SURPRISE to students and is usually a 45-60 minute bus trip away. Students will leave directly after graduation and parents will be notified at that time of the surprise location. Senior Celebration provides not only a fun and safe experience for our students the night they graduate, it also creates great memories for years to come!
