  • February 19-23 Winter Break. School resumes Feb. 26

  • Wednesday, February 14, 2024, is Pupil Count Day.   Schools across the state must have their students in attendance on this day. This piece of data determines the per-pupil funding school districts receive to operate school buildings and programs. If it is necessary to have your son/daughter not in attendance due to extenuating circumstances, please notify the attendance office at 231-780-4711 and press #1.

Scholarships

Seniors - start applying for scholarships! Scholarship lists by due date can be found on our financial aid and scholarships page

FAFSA is open. College-bound seniors should complete the 24-25 FAFSA to determine your eligibility for college grants, scholarships, and loans.

NEW*Spring College visits to Mona Shores have started. An admissions representative from Western Michigan University will be at Mona Shores High School to meet with any interested students on Friday, February 9 at 1:45 pm. Students should sign up in the Counseling Office.

NEW* Counseling Department Scheduling Reminders:

We met with most of the current 10th grade students this week and 9th grade students during the previous week! Some students still need to complete their requests in PowerSchool and turn in their signed forms to the Counseling Office. Please encourage your student to do this.

We will be meeting with the current 11th grade students February 5-9 during their World History class. Passes will be sent to 11th grade students not currently in World History. By the Monday, February 5, please complete the following:

  • Review scheduling video and materials in your student’s Class of 20xx - Counseling Office and Scheduling Google classroom.

  • Complete your Graduation Audit and select courses for next year

  • Sign Up for Lockers - links on HS LMC page and in their Google Classroom

  • Completed CTC application (link in Google Classroom) if planning to attend

  • Paper course request forms completed and signed by parent and appropriate teacher(s)

  • Online Course requests entered through the Student Portal

Return signed forms to your counselor during your class meeting time.

General Updates and Reminders:

Extended Day Program: Monday - Thursday afterschool until 3:45 pm. Teachers and NHS tutors are available for support. Location is the HS Library Media Center. A great opportunity to work on collaborative projects, stay engaged in your learning and achieve your goals.

Athletic Department Information: 

  • Mona Shores Sport Events Electronic Ticket Link  You can purchase tickets on line for any athletic event or pay at the ticket booth.

  • Monashoresathletics.com  You can view athletic events and information. 

  • ATHLETIC SIGN UPS : If your child is interested in playing a sport at Mona Shores Middle School or at Mona Shores High School you will need to register on Final Forms.  Final Forms will be a tool that coaches, parents, and the Athletic Department can utilize to communicate, track information, and become more efficient.   In order to tryout for a sport or to begin practice, student athletes will need to be registered through Final Forms and also have an MHSAA Physical.  Here is the link to register!  Also HERE is a link for help creating and getting started with your account.

Class of 2024 Senior Celebration Information:

Registration for the Senior Celebration post graduation party is now available. 

Beginning January 2, 2024 the price is $85 . Deadline to register is May 17, 2024.  See registration form HERE for more details. If you have not signed up for the parent communication email list, please do so HERE.  If you’d like to join the parent Facebook group or want to share the group with another parent, you can access the Facebook page HERE.

Senior Celebration is a time-honored tradition where parents of the Senior Class put together a fun "all-night" experience for the graduating class. The event location is a SURPRISE to students and is usually a 45-60 minute bus trip away. Students will leave directly after graduation and parents will be notified at that time of the surprise location. Senior Celebration provides not only a fun and safe experience for our students the night they graduate, it also creates great memories for years to come!
