Good afternoon Sailors!

Attached you will find the Week’s Events Calendar for the upcoming activities at MSHS.

Congratulations to Senior Drew Hackney for earning the title of Tennis State Finalist.

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Volleyball team for winning the OK Green Conference Championship!

Athletic Updates:

It's the State Tournament time for many Sailor teams! Good Luck Sailors!

We are in full swing of the postseason.  Soccer lost their first District game in a hard fought battle with West Ottawa, Varsity Tennis fell just short of qualifying for State as a team but Drew Hackney finished as the State Runner-Up in Division 2, and Girls Golf bowed out just short at Regionals.  We have many events still to take place.  Please see dates below:

Cross Country Regionals

10/28:  Varsity Cross Country Regional at Allendale High School 10:00am

All MHSAA postseason tournaments are digital tickets only.  They are found on www.gofan.co.  NO PASSES are accepted.  We want the largest amount of support for our student-athletes at these events.  Please note that we do not determine how tickets are sold for MHSAA events.  This is set by the MHSAA.  No paper tickets will be sold for any of the above events.

Football

Please join us at Sailor Stadium on Friday, October 27th at 7:00 for the District Semifinal football game vs. Reeths-Puffer.  It is a rematch from earlier in the season and will be a great game.  Please help the team by being present and cheering loudly!  We need Sailor Nation to back their team.  Tickets can only be purchased electronically. https://gofan.co/event/1183308?schoolId=MI10160

Volleyball

Your OK Green Champion Volleyball team starts their quest through the state tournament on Monday, October 30.  They will play their first round game against Muskegon at Grand Haven High School with a 7:00 start time.  Please consider showing up in droves for our Lady Sailors!  Tickets again are electronic only and can be purchased at the link https://gofan.co/event/1172470?schoolId=MI10160

MSHS Manufacturing students tour Muskegon

On Tuesday, October 24th, Industrial Arts teacher Pat Rabbitt escorted over 30 Mona Shores students to four different manufacturing facilities in Muskegon as well as the Carolyn and Peter Stirrus Technology Center, which is administered by Muskegon Community College in downtown Muskegon.  Students heard presentations from company executives and took tours on the factory floors. They learned about potential post-graduation job opportunities, some of which required a college degree and many of which did not. At the end of the day, they all had a clearer picture of what life might look like after high school.
