Back to School Updates and Reminders:

  • School starts at 7:45 am and dismisses at 2:55 pm

  • Things to bring for the first day: Your fully charged chromebook, backpack with personal belongings & personal water bottle. Be sure to check your power school portal for your most up to date class schedule.

  • General School Supplies: A spiral notebook with paper, pens/pencils for your classes. 

  • Student Drop Off and Pick up: When dropping off your student in the morning please use the front circle drive and the east parking lot. When using the front circle drive please do not use the bus lane for drop off. Parent drop off is the lane closest to Seminole. In planning for after school pick up, please know that students will be directed to use the crosswalk at Seminole and Padelt. 

  • Student drivers please plan to park in the West lot during the marching band season. Moped Parking is also available in the West lot on the marked sidewalk.

  • 2023-24 Lunch Schedule T1

    • Students have 1st or 2nd lunch based on their 3rd hour teacher and are assigned a location for lunch based on their last name. 

    • Lunch is free to all students

  • Information for CTC students:  You will all receive monthly email reminders throughout the school year.  More information can be found in the following link. September CTC Information Letter

  • Please visit the MSPS Transportation website  for Bus information and student expectations. https://www.monashores.net/page/transportation

  • Late Orientation: For those students who missed Orientation, on your first day of school please report to the LMC. Doors will open for you at 7:15 am. Reminder for parents to complete your demographic information on the portal for your student to be issued a chromebook.

  • Communication: Each Friday you will receive a Sailor Family Update email communication of school updates and reminders from the Principal’s office. In addition, the HS webpage and MSPS App is a tremendous resource for school wide information.   • Extended Day Academic support Will be offered starting week #2 of the school year. Location: LMC Time: 3:00- 3:45 pm


Raising the Bar! Sailor Academic Highlights


In the Spring of 2023, MSHS students excelled in College Board Advanced Placement exams, which give high school students the opportunity to take challenging college-level coursework while still in high school.  Sailor accomplishments are outlined by the numbers below.


-  85% of MSHS students received a passing score of at least 3 or higher. Well above the state and national average.

-  50 students were named AP Scholars by receiving passing scores on at least three AP exams.

-  13 examinees were named AP Scholars with Honor by averaging 3.25 on all tests and passing at least 4 others.

-  31 students were dubbed AP Scholars with Distinction for their 3.5 average score on all tests while passing at least 5 more exams.

-  The AP Capstone Diploma is awarded to students who pass both the AP Seminar and AP Research tests while scoring 3 or higher on 4 other exams.  Mona Shores had 4 recipients of this honor:  Cienna Billingsley, Carly Califf, Cecilia Conrad, and Carlie Gelderloos.

-  2 students received the National African American Recognition Award:  Brandon Thompson and Jayda Trigg.
