Happy Memorial Day Weekend! 

Sailor Nation is extremely grateful for our Veterans and their families. To honor our veterans and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. We hope you will join our Sailor Marching Band as they perform in the Muskegon downtown parade on Memorial day at 9 am. Immediately following the parade is the American Salute concert paying tribute to our Veterans at the Frauenthal at 10 am. This is a free concert.

Today is Senior Day! 

We hope Sailor Nation will join us for the Senior Car parade at 5 pm. Please line Seminole Road and wear your blue and white to honor and celebrate our Seniors! Seniors are encouraged to wear their cap and gown and decorate their vehicle with their post secondary plans. Seniors, stage at the Shoreline community church at 4:30 pm today.


Oh the Places they will go! College, Career, and Life Ready!

  • Commencement Rehearsal

12:45 pm – Trinity Health Arena (Old LC Walker Arena)

     (Be in your assigned seat no later than 12:45 pm)


  • Commencement

7:00 pm – Trinity Health Arena (Old LC Walker Arena)


  • Attendance is required to participate in Commencement.  Be prompt.  Do not wear your cap and gown to rehearsal.

  • Students are required to be at the Commencement Rehearsal and must abide by the following standards of dress for the Commencement Ceremony: Light colored dresses or skirts and blouses.  They should not wear bold colors or patterns as they will show through the gown.  Comfortable dress shoes and avoid high heels as graduates will be entering and exiting the stage via stairs. Light colored or white dress shirts with collars, tied neckties, dress pants, and dress shoes. 



  • Seniors report to the Arena staging area at 6:15 pm.  Parents should plan to arrive early for parking and securing a good seat.  Tell your parents which side of arena to sit.  Caps and gowns must be worn and the dress code followed. Reminder that there is no reserved seating and the arena opens at 6:15 pm.



Parking and Arena Entrance information:

Seniors are encouraged to park in the North East Shoreline parking lot. There is parking available on Western and Shoreline. Graduates will enter the north arena lower level entrance off of Shoreline Drive. This door will be marked Graduates only. 


Entrance to the arena can be accessed from Western Street and from Shoreline Dr. There will be signage marking the entrances. Handicapped entrance to the main level is directly off of Western Avenue entrance next to the RAD DAD’s restaurant. 


Tickets for Graduation entry:

Please bring your ticket to enter the arena. Each senior received 12 tickets at Senior Checkout.


Sailor Nation to live stream Commencement Ceremony:

Mona Shores High School Summer School 2023 -

 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • No cost to current and pre-registered students of Mona Shores schools for Credit Recovery & Credit Enhancement courses

  • Session I is 11 days.

  • Session II is 9 days.  

  • Speech will be offered in both Session I and Session II, running 9 days for each.  

    • Session I: June 20 - 30

    • Session II: July 10 - 20

  • Class Time is 8:00am - 1:00pm  (Except Opening Day, June 20th: 9:30am - 2:30pm)

Extended Day Program:

Monday - Thursday after school until 3:45 pm. Teachers and NHS tutors are available for support. Location is the HS Library Media Center. A great opportunity to work on collaborative projects, stay engaged in your learning and achieve your goals.

Mental Health resources for families:

  • Our counseling team continues to be a resource and support for our students. If you would like to connect with your counselor, please access the link below for the QR code.QR Code to connect with school counselor

  • Community Resources

  • MS. Taylor Jones, Fresh Coast Counseling Clinician is available for students at MSHS. Taylor is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and is a licensed Social Worker. Taylor will be available for students and staff to provide therapeutic support during the school day. As well as, provide monthly mental health strategies and activities for students, staff and families.
