Congratulations to the MSHS Orchestra students and directors for their outstanding performance at the winter concert featuring guest conductor and composer Sean O’Loughlin.

This talented group of Sailor musicians performed the world premier of several musical pieces. A special evening for the Sailors in a packed Auditorium. Thank you Mrs. Kelly DeRose and Mr. Mosely for your work to make this opportunity possible for students!

Action Strategies

Did you know that in a short amount of time this passionate group of student leaders and faculty members have accomplished the following:

  • Use of student, staff and parent surveys to drive mental health action strategies. (Miphy, PBIS Culture and Climate Survey, District Survey)

  • Student activities to bring awareness, helping them understand they are not alone and it is okay to talk about mental health

  • 5K Run connecting 20+ community mental health agencies to our students and families

  • Partnership with FreshCoast Counseling services in building. Breaking down barriers for students. Welcome Taylor Jones!

  • Launch of Hope Squad Peer to Peer Suicide program: Empowering students with the skills to Question, Persuade and Report students in need of intervention.

  • Participated in the Student Mental Health Summit Training

  • National Speaker, Molly Kennedy: Developing skills to foster Grit, perseverance, coping with stress and anxiety

  • Launch of WIN time

  • Welcome Callie, Therapy Dog

  • Counselor Training in Trails program (U of M)

  • Professional Development for staff: QPR,Trauma Informed Classroom, Casel instructional strategies

Assessment Updates:

SAT/PSAT Testing Day: April 12 for all students in grades 9-11. Please click here to review the schedule so that you may plan accordingly. It is important that all students are in attendance on this day.

  • AP Tests: Students in advanced placement classes, if you plan to test and have not already signed up, please do so by seeing Mr. Higgs as soon as possible. All student test orders must be completed by March 15, 2023 (late fee assessed).

  • Requesting of Transcripts: Colleges prefer that you send transcripts electronically. Please visit here and press ‘Order my Transcript’ to request a transcript. *Please remember it is FREE for current students to use the Parchment Electronic service.

Students planning to take the May 6 SAT must submit their registration online by April 7. Please visit the CollegeBoard website for more information.The basic fee for the SAT (no writing) is $55.

Senior Celebration information:

SENIORS - Sign up by February 1, 2023 for $50 for the after graduation night celebration - after February 1 it will be $75. Additional sign up sheets are available in the front office. This will be a fun filled night to celebrate your graduation from Mona Shores. Senior Celebration Post Grad Party Registration Form


Extended Day Program:

Monday - Thursday after school until 3:45 pm. Teachers and NHS tutors are available for support. Location is the HS Library Media Center. A great opportunity to work on collaborative projects, stay engaged in your learning and achieve your goals.
