Happy Friday Lincoln Park Families,

It’s been another great month to be a Sailor!  We have completed another successful month for the 2023-2024 school year with CREW members learning and growing while enjoying their days at school.

Good News:

  • Today, we celebrated positive behaviors at our monthly CREW assembly.  Students were recognized for their positive behaviors in and out of the classroom. As a way to celebrate the successful month of school, all CREW members will enjoy a surprise reward determined by their grade level teachers.

  • Our robotics team, Crewbotics, placed 1st in the First Lego League Upper Elementary Regional Competition.  Good luck as they move on to the state completion in Lansing on December 9!

  • The Mona Shores Sideline Store is officially up and running. They are currently offering fans an epic, month-long promotion--25% OFF sitewide when you use code SPIRIT.. http://sideline.bsnsports.com/schools/michigan/nortonshores/mona-shores-public-schools

Information:

  • Our growth mindset for the month of December is “My EFFORT is most important”.  Teachers will remind students that showing effort is key to practice and learning.

  • Please click here to read helpful parent information compiled by our Occupational and Physical Therapists.

  • Your student’s report card will be available for viewing online beginning on  Monday, December 4, capturing some of the learning that has transpired in the first trimester of school. If you have questions or concerns regarding your student’s grades, please reach out to your child’s teacher. If you require assistance viewing the report card using the PowerSchool portal, please contact the front office.

  • Trying an Hour of Code is a simple and fun way to introduce your child to computer science, perhaps for the very first time. Not only is computer science foundational to all fields of study, but recent studies show: children who study computer science perform better in other subjects, excel at problem-solving, and are 17% more likely to enroll in college. Important Reminders:

  • As winter weather is quickly approaching, be sure to send in a pair of shoes for students to wear in the classroom.  Snow boots cause unnecessary messes in the classroom and are not comfortable for students to wear the whole day.

  • Please send students to school prepared for our outdoor recesses each day with appropriate outdoor clothing:  hats, mittens, boots, and snow pants.  Lunch recess is 20 minutes M-F and students have an additional 30 minutes of outside play T-F. This time is much more enjoyable when students are dressed appropriately for the winter weather.  Students will have outdoor recess unless the air temperature or wind chill is 5 degrees or below.

  • Students may not be dropped off earlier than 8:10. If you arrive earlier than this, you will need to keep your child in your car until you see staff members present beginning at 8:10.

Coaches needed:
