Happy Fall Lincoln Park Families,

We want to extend thanks to all who took the time out of their busy schedules to meet with our staff to discuss your students and our shared goal of student success at our recent Parent Teacher Conferences.  We are thrilled that the last two weeks of school have allowed us to meet with nearly 100% of our population. As we look forward to November, please find the following information helpful.

Good News:

  • Today, we celebrated positive behaviors in the second CREW assembly of this school year.  Students were recognized for their positive behaviors in and out of the classroom. As a way to celebrate the successful month of school, all CREW members enjoyed Donuts and Cider provided by our supportive PTO.

  • We also kicked off our annual Ride With Pride initiative in partnership with Norton Shores Police Department.  Students are bringing home their pledge forms today.  Please return them by the November 3 deadline in order for your student to be eligible for the end of year prizes awarded for this yearly program.  We appreciate our NSPD partners!

Information:

  • Our growth mindset for the month of November is “When I struggle I grow”.  Teachers will remind students that doing work that feels hard and takes effort is part of the learning process.

General Reminders:

  • Call the office to report student absences each day your child will be out.

  • Please write your child’s name or initials inside their lunchbox, coat, mittens, hats, etc… We have many lost and found items brought to the office each day, and this increases the odds that your child’s items will be returned to them when they misplace them.

PTO News:

  • Our Walk-A-Thon was a smashing success!  Thank you to the PTO and Walk-A-Thon committee for planning and running a fun day for all students.  It was great to see so many families join us on this day!  Our collective effort raised $34,611.46.  AMAZING!!

    • In celebration of this amazing feat, the whole school earned a day of fun with bounce houses on October 13.

    • 100% participating classes have earned a class reward of ice cream floats.  These floats will be presented to classes on Friday, November, 10.

    • Mr. Osborne’s class won the change wars bringing in $411.82 to earn Donuts with an NSPD officer this week.

  • Please join our PTO for the next meeting on Tuesday, November 14 at 6:30PM in the library. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in giving input or helping out, please contact our PTO: lincolnparkptocrew@gmail.com

  • Please save the date and plan to attend our Fall Harvest STEM Night on November 17 from 6-8 PM.  Details can be found by clicking here and in a flier sent home in today’s Friday Folders.

Halloween Reminders:

  • We will be celebrating Halloween at school on Tuesday, October 31.

  • See your student’s teacher’s communications regarding specific times chosen for their grade level.

  • All parents/guardians should enter the school through the main office and sign in.  Please bring your photo ID.

  • All students are able to wear costumes, if they choose, to school for the day.

    • Students will not be changing into their costumes at school.

    • We encourage parents to simplify costumes that will allow students to accomplish academic tasks throughout the day.

    • Costumes should not be a distraction to the learning during the day.

    • Costumes should NOT include blood, weapons, masks, or other violent themes.
