Senior Parents and Students
Spring is full of excitement for all of our students, and it is an exceptionally exciting time for our seniors who will soon be participating in the many upcoming events that are focused around graduation. The days leading up to Commencement will be full of excitement and anticipation for you, your soon-to-be graduate, and your family and friends. The following information will be helpful in your planning.
We view our Commencement Ceremony as a time to acknowledge our seniors who have completed the graduation requirements as determined by the Mona Shores Board of Education. This event is an excellent way to culminate a K-12 educational experience. Commencement is a formal occasion where we, as a staff, honor your student and provide the opportunity to meet one final time as the Class of 2025. To maintain the formal atmosphere that your student deserves, we ask that you refrain from the use of air horns and other such “noise makers”.
RSVP for Tickets to Graduation. Parents please complete this google form RSVP Graduation Tickets 2025 Each senior will receive a maximum of 12 tickets.
Your student’s participation is voluntary and a privilege. The school reserves the right to designate who will take part. Students are required to be at the Commencement Rehearsal and must abide by the following standards of dress for the Commencement Ceremony:
Light colored dresses or skirts and blouses. They should not wear bold colors or patterns as they will show through the gown, best for photos. Comfortable dress shoes and avoid high heels as graduates will be entering and exiting the stage via stairs.
Light colored or white dress shirts with collars, tied neckties, dress pants, and dress shoes.
Review with your senior the dates and events.
Seniors will pick up their Senior Check Out Forms from their 1st hour teachers on Friday, May 16th. This two sided form must be returned to Mrs. Neiser no later than 12:00 pm Friday, May 23rd All fines and fees must be paid prior to Senior Check Out. A student ID is needed for checkout to be complete. (This includes lunch room debits, locker fines, textbook fines, return chromebook, and other fines/fees.)
Seniors must clean out their lockers and remove pictures, tape, cans/bottles, etc. Senior lockers will be inspected during the last week of school.
All disciplinary obligations (detentions, etc.) must be fulfilled prior to Commencement participation.
All graduation credit requirements must be completed by Senior Check Out time in order for students to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
We hope the last days of your soon-to-be graduate are productive, meaningful, and positive. All of us at Mona Shores wish each graduate a successful and rewarding future. We are proud to have played a role in their life and look forward to hearing about the Class of 2025 as they pursue their hopes and dreams.
Go Sailors!
