The Mona Shores wrestlers earned a number of individual honors the last couple of weeks in both OK Green and GMAA Competition. At the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association championships at Montague on Saturday, January 21st, freshman Mario Curiel was the lone Sailor champion.
At the OK Green Conference tournament at Zeeland West on Saturday, February 4th, multiple individuals were medal winners:
In the 106 lb weight class, freshman Mario Curiel took 2nd.
At 144, junior Erik Davidson placed 2nd.
At 157, Senior Gavyn Stout took 1st place.
Junior Peyton Peterson was also the champion in the 175 lb weight class.
The Sailor grapplers will travel to Reeths-Puffer on Thursday, February 9th to take on Traverse City Central in the MHSAA Team District.
