Ross Park Elementary is a neighborhood school located within the City of Norton Shores.  We are a kindergarten through grade 5 facility with a full daycare program located within the building.

Each building in the district is graded by the state of Michigan and given a report card, which provides an assessment of several measures of the school’s performance. Ross Park earned a composite grade of “A”. The composite grade is the overall grade for the school, arrived at by combining the following factors: student achievement (attendance, participation, and performance improvement), indicators of school performance (school facilities, attendance, graduation rate), and AYP status (student achievement in English Language Arts and mathematics), which are based on MEAP test results.  

Some highlights about Ross Park include…  

• All teachers were trained in the 4-Square Writing Process, a highly effective program that emphasizes coherent paragraph writing.           
• Ross Park is involved in the “Learning to Give” pilot program.  
• Destination ImagiNation regional competitors. 
• Ross Park boasts a state-of-the-art computer lab with enough stations to accommodate a single classroom.  
• School-wide activities in partnership with the PTO: School Carnival, Family Fun Night, Art Show and Ice Cream Social, Reindeer Lane (holiday shopping).  
• Accelerated Reader: A challenging computer program that encourages students to excel and grow in their reading abilities.  
• A full and comprehensive “Specials” program including Technology, Art, Music and Physical Education.  

Ross Park is involved in several partnerships in the community. They include the following: Learning-to-Give Program, Junior Achievement, and Ident-a- Kid Program.
