Upcoming Events and Important Dates


October is College Application Month

 There will be many colleges coming into our building to meet with seniors (Click here to view college/military visit list).  There also may be opportunities to do on-site admissions. Currently, we are meeting with seniors to discuss post graduate plans.  Please ask your student to share this information with you.

*October 1 ~ FAFSA Opens
 

  • This is the first date that you may submit the FAFSA. It’s recommended to submit as close to October 1 as possible.

*October 2 ~ 6:00-7:30 pm College Night at Muskegon Community College
 

  • 50+ colleges and universities will be represented.

*October 4 ~ 6:30-7:30 pm Financial Aid Workshop (LMC)
 

  • We have invited a Financial Aid rep to come to Mona Shores High School to share with our families information pertaining to filing FAFSA.  The representative will go through the FAFSA application step by step and will also answer any questions that you may have.

*October 4 ~ 10:00 am - 10:00 pm Michigan Virtual College Fair - see attached flyer
 

*October 10 ~ 4:00-7:00 pm Parent Teacher Conferences
 

*October 10 ~ 5:15-5:45 pm Senior Parent Night (LMC)
 

  • Counselors have been meeting one-on-one with seniors about next steps for college and careers. We want to share the same information with parents.

*October 11 ~ PSAT/NMSQT Testing  
 

  • This is a late start Wednesday, but students that are signed up to take the PSAT/NMSQT must report at 7:30 a.m.   

*October 12 ~ 4:00-7:00 pm Parent Teacher Conferences
 

*October 12 ~ 5:15-5:45 pm Junior Parent Night (LMC)
 

  • Counselors will present a college readiness timeline for junior and senior year.

Education Verification and Transcripts for Students who graduated prior to 1998: 

Companies seeking verification of education may submit requests to this email address:  registrar@monashores.net   Students who graduated prior to 1998 may also submit a request to this email address.  Please attach a signed release from the student and provide the student's full name at graduation, date of birth and graduation year, if known.  There is a $5.00 charge for each transcript mailed from our office, payable in cash, money order or check at the High School Counseling office.
