Mona Shores Class of 2011 Commended Scholars

Ki-Joo Sung   Ki-Joo Sung, daughter of Pil and Jung Sung is ranked number 1 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores. Ki-Joo's activities include Math Club (President/Co-Founder), Science Club (President/Founder), BPA National Finalist, Cross Country & Track (Team Captain), Destination Imagination, Student of the Month and volunteering at Hackley Hospital.  She plans to attend the University of Michigan majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
     
Tim Woodcock  

Tim Woodcock, son of Steve and Laurie Woodcock is ranked number 2 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Tim has been active in Student of the Month, Cross Country & Track, National Honor Society, Marching Band & Pep Band, Orchestra Winds and St. Francis Brass Ensembles.  He plans to continue his studies at the University of Notre Dame majoring in Chemical Engineering.

     
Matt Erbes  

Matt Erbes, son of Mark and Annette Erbes is ranked number 3 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Matt's interests include the National Honor Society, Student of the Month, Varsity Basketball (Co-Captain), Sailor's Log, Link Crew, Tindall Piano Studio, Lake Harbor Youth Group and the Grand Rapids District Youth Council of UMC (President).  He plans to attend Valparaiso University majoring in Geography.

     
M_Kiley   Marylou Kiley, daughter of Kevin and Ruth Kiley is ranked number 4 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Marylou has been active in the National Honor Society, Student of the Month, BPA, Link Crew, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Tennis and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She plans to attend Franciscan University of Steubenville where her focus will be a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
     
Matthew Barringer  

Matthew Barringerson of Leonard and Lori Barringer is ranked number 5 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Matthew's activities include the National Honor Society, Student of the Month, Link Crew, Varsity, Baseball, Varsity Hockey, Varsity Football, the American Red Cross, Taste of Muskegon, Alter Server at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Toys for Tots.  He plans to attend Michigan State University majoring in Biomedical Engineering.

Luke Kang  

Luke Kang, son of  Jin-Man and Hae-Shin Kang is ranked number 6 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Luke has been active in the National Honor Society, Student Leadership, Student of the Month, Cross Country & Track, Student Senate, Fiddlers, Chamber Orchestra, Spanish Club, Science Club, Math Club, First Priority, Maranatha Chamber, West MI Youth Symphony, Holland Area Youth Orchestra and Korean SDA Youth Orchestra.  He plans to attend Andrews University where his focus will be Pre-Med and Music.

     
Maggie Barnard  

Maggie Barnard, daughter of Steve and Sarah Barnard is ranked number 7 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Maggie has been involved with the National Honor Society, Student of the Month, Amnesty International (Co-President/Co-Founder), Student Senate, Allegros, Conflict Management, Destination Imagination (global finalist), Link Crew, Choir Board (President) and Players.  She plans to continue her studies at Michigan State University-James Madison College majoring in International Development.

     
Evan Adkins  

Evan Adkins, son of Pete and Laure Adkins is ranked number 8 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Evan has been active in Varsity Hockey, Varsity Baseball and the Optimist Club.  He plans to attend the University of Michigan majoring in Biomedical or Industrial Engineering.

     
Anika Abiade   Anika Abiade, daughter of Zawdie and Nancy Abiade is ranked number 9 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Anika's activities include National Honor Society, Link Crew, BPA, Color Guard, Amnesty International, Christian Education, Math Club and Spanish Club.  She plans to continue her education at the University of Alabama majoring in Exercise and Sports Science/Spanish.
     
Kendall Murphy   Kendall Murphy, son of Ken and Karla Murphy is ranked number 10 in the Class of 2011 at Mona Shores.  Kendall has been active in the National Honor Society, Student of the Month, Varsity Football, Varsity Wrestling, Cross Country, Golf, Link Leader, Conflict Management, Robotics Team, Student Senate, Amnesty International and Relay for Life.  He plans to attend the University of Michigan majoring in Pre-Med or Engineering.
