Mona Shores Class of 2010 Commended Scholars

 

Boyer - Commended Scholar  

David Boyer, son of Robert and Mary Boyer is ranked number 1 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. David has been active in the National Honor Society, Amnesty International, Varsity Tennis and enjoys playing the piano. He plans to continue his studies next year at the University of Michigan focusing on a science related curriculum.

     
Routhier - Commended Scholar  

Jesse Routhier, son of David and Kathy Routhier is ranked number 2 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Jesse's interests include Cross Country, Track, Broadcast, playing the guitar and songwriting. He plans to continue his education at Grand Valley State University with an emphasis on Film and Video.

 

Grace - Commendable Scholar  

Kathleen Grace, daughter of James and Karen Grace is ranked number 3 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Kathleen has been involved with Girl Scouts, Mother-Daughter Book Club, Math Club, Orchestra, Cross-Country, National Honor Society, ESL Tutoring, Piano, and Youth Group. She will attend the University of Michigan (LSA Honors Program) to study Biology with focus on Genetics

 

     
Lee - Commended Scholar  

Cindy (Hsin) Lee, daughter of Shuling and David Gelderloos is ranked number 4 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Cindy's activities include Chamber Orchestra, Student Senate, Amnesty International, National Honor Society, Dance, America's Junior Miss Scholarship Program (Michigan), and Cecchetti Ballet. Cindy plans to attend the University of Michigan for Pre-Med and Neuroscience.

     
Jones - Commended Scholar  

Sara Jones, daughter of Stuart and Helen Jones is ranked number 5 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Sara's activities include Cross Country, Track, National Honor Society, Youth Group, Girl Scouts, Math Club and Orchestra. Sara plans to continue her education next year at The University of Notre Dame.

Desmond Kolean Burley   Desmond Kolean-Burley, son of Joanne Chorney and Morris Burley is ranked number 6 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. His activities include Cross Country, Track, Boy Scouts, Spanish Club, Math Club and National Honor Society. Desmond plans to continue his studies next year at the University of Michigan.
     
Clark - Commended Scholar  

Natalie Clark, daughter of Mark and Kristi Clark is ranked number 7 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Natalie has been involved in Girl Scouts, Mackinac Island Honor Scouts, Orchestra, Cross Country, Book Club, Youth Group, Math Club and National Honor Society. Natalie plans to attend American University where her focus will be on International Relations.

     
Rich - Commended Scholar   Elizabeth Rich, daughter of Michael and Carol Rich is ranked number 8 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Liz's activities include Cross Country, Student Senate, Girl Scouts, Muskegon Community Foundation Youth Advisory Counsel, Captain's Circle, Chamber Orchestra, National Honor Society, Amnesty International, Mother-Daughter Book Club and Youth Group. Liz plans to attend the University of Michigan to study Biology and Pre-Med.
     
Slamkowski - Commended Scholar   Tyler Slamkowski, son of Cindy & Michael Wilkinson and Tom Slamkowski is ranked number 9 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Tyler's activities include Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Sailor Brass, Debate, National Honor Society, and Youth Group. Calvin College is where Tyler plans to continue his education focusing on English and Political Science.
     
Northuis - Commended Scholar   Carin Northuis, daughter of Rich and Tresa Northuis is ranked number 10 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Carin has been involved in Varsity Soccer, Premier Soccer Club, National Honor Society, Mission Trips, Co-leader of Operation Christmas Child, Youth Group, Cross Group, Spanish Club and Debate. She will attend Wheaton College to study Biochemistry and Spanish.
     
Haines - Commended Scholar   Laura Haines, daughter of Steve and Lisa Haines is ranked number 11 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Laura has been involved in Marching Band, Youth Group, JV Tennis, National Honor Society, Orchestra Winds, Sailor Brass, Jazz Band and Piano. Laura plans to attend Western Michigan University next year to major in Accounting.
     
Sipovic - Commended Scholar   Jaclyn Sipovic, daughter of William and Sheila Sipovic is ranked number 12 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Jaclyn's activities have included Varsity Gymnastics, Student Senate, Amnesty International, Varsity Swimming, Varsity Track, and youth gymnastics programs. Next year Jaclyn plans to continue her studies at the University of Michigan.
     
R Haines - Commended Scholar   Rebecca Haines, daughter of Steve and Lisa Haines is ranked number 13 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Rebecca's activities have included Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra Winds, Marching Band, National Honor Society and Youth Group. Western Michigan University is where Rebecca plans to continue her education with focus in Music Education.
     
Grimm - Commended Scholar   Samantha Grimm, daughter of William and Anna Grimm is ranked number 14 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Samantha's interests and activities have included Debate, Science Club and the National Honor Society. Samantha plans to continue her education next year at Kalamazoo College where her studies will focus on Political Science and Pre-Law.
     
Wahl - Commended Scholar   Caley Wahl, daughter of Charles and Jacqueline Wahl is ranked number 15 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Caley's activities include Marching Band, Orchestra Winds, Muskegon Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council, National Honor Society, Amnesty International, Student Senate, Volleyball, Tennis and French Club. She plans to attend Appalachian State University to study Music Education.
     
Turrell - Commended Scholar   Cora Turrell, daughter of Bruce and Sara Turrell is ranked number 16 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Cora's interests are Volleyball, Soccer, Hockey, Student Senate, Choir, Amnesty International, Youth Optimist Club, National Honor Society, and President of the LAFC. Cora will attend Cornell University to study Human Ecology.
     
Matthews - Commended Scholar   Katy Matthews, daughter of Richard and Joanie Matthews is ranked number 17 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Katy has been involved in Basketball, Softball, Girl Scouts, National Honor Society, Marching Band and Symphonic Band. Katy plans to attend Muskegon Community College to study Forensics.
     
Woodcock - Commendable Scholar   Ellen Woodcock, daughter of Steven and Laurie Woodcock is ranked number 18 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Ellen's interests include Student Senate, Cross Country, Track, Band, Orchestra Winds, Girl Scouts and National Honor Society. She plans to attend the University of Michigan to major in Exercise Science.
     
Busken - Commended Scholar  

Jon Busken, son of Bob and Sara Busken is ranked number 19 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Jon has been involved in Track, National Honor Society, Student Senate and the Science Club. He plans to attend Lyman Briggs at Michigan State University where his focus will be Pre-Med.

     
Hoerle - Commended Scholar   Tyler Hoerle, son of Michael and Jeannine Hoerle is ranked number 20 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Tyler has been involved in National Honor Society, Varsity Soccer, and Captains Circle. He plans to attend The Frederick Meijer Honors College at Grand Valley State University and will study Biology (Pre-Med).
     
Wysozan - Commended Scholar  

Timothy Wysozan, son of Robert and Kathleen Wysozan is ranked number 21 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Tim's interests include Band, Marching Band, National Honor Society, Orchestra Winds and Boy Scouts. He plans to attend the University of Michigan to study Biology (Pre-Med).

     
Burmeister - Commended Scholar  

Christi Burmeister, daughter of Steve and Patty Burmeister is ranked number 22 in the Class of 2010 at Mona Shores. Christi is involved in Tennis, Swimming, National Honor Society, Church Youth Group and also coaches youth soccer. She plans to attend Central Michigan University to study Integrative Public Relations with a minor in Leadership.
