APPLICATION AND HIRING PROCEDURES FOR CLASSIFIED POSITIONS
APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
Applications and resumes create a “first impression” on Mona Shores Public Schools. Please take the time to provide all the information requested and submit it in a manner that represents you well.
Our district application process is based on a January 1 - December 31 calendar year. Your application will remain active in our files for this period of time. If you wish your application to remain active beyond this time frame, please request so in writing. Changes in personal information (i.e. phone number, name, or address, etc.) should be sent in writing to our Personnel Office. Additional substantive changes (i.e. work experience, changes in references, and other significant information) occurring after the original application was filed, requires completion of a new application form.
All applicants and employees are treated without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, military status, handicap, or medical condition.
HIRING PROCEDURES:
When a vacancy occurs, positions are posted internally (within the school system), and, if needed, externally (outside the district). All postings include the title of the position, requirements, location, salary/wage range, application procedures, and deadline dates/times for accepting applications. All application information must be received in the Personnel Office by the posted deadline dates/times.
Applications are not reviewed until posting deadlines have expired. Using our files, we then compile a comprehensive listing of eligible applicants for review. PLEASE NOTE, IT ALWAYS REMAINS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF APPLICANTS TO MONITOR ALL POSTINGS AND APPLY FOR SPECIFIC POSITIONS THEY ARE INTERESTED IN. Applicants are always encouraged to stop in the Personnel Office to activate files for specific postings.
Applying for openings does not ensure that all applicants will be interviewed or hired. Applying ensures only that candidates will be considered for vacancies. Some positions also require candidates to pass a physical examination, and if offered employment, all applicants will be required to provide proof of citizenship or work eligibility, as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (I-9). Proof of citizenship requires submission of two pieces of identification (driver’s license, birth certificate, social security card, passport, etc.) for review. All employment offers remain tentative until formally approved by the Board of Education.
