Mona Shores Public Schools stand alone in the technology provided to students as they enter the 21st century. When students leave Mona Shores, they will have mastered the ability to communicate and learn through audio, video, and computer technology. We realize that to thrive in the 21st century, students will need to be competent and knowledgeable in the “information age.” As we progress, plans will evolve through the process of quality improvement, emergence of new technologies, and rising expertise of staff and students.

Technology Is Affecting Student Learning!

• Students read a book and then are assessed at the computer on their reading comprehension of the book
• Students create state reports using PowerPoint and the Internet
• Students use databases and spreadsheets to organize information
• Students use word processing to create documents
• Students have the opportunity to explore CAD, web page design, and network administration & design
• Students create presentations utilizing “Smart Classrooms”
• Students communicate with other students outside of their classroom
• Students research the vast array of information on the Internet
• Student create digital video presentations and productions using digital video editing tools
